Faure Gnassingb., Togo studied in Paris at the Sorbonne where he received a Diploma in financial business management, and then earned a master’s degree in business administration from The George University of Washington in the United States. He was elected to the National Assembly of Togo in the parliamentary election October 2002 as deputy for Blitta, and in the National Assembly as coordinator of the commission in charge of privatization. On July 29, 2003, he was appointed Minister of Equipment, Mines, Posts and Telecommunications, serving in this position until becoming President in February 2005.
